- Jefferson County. Coming from outside that area? Call first. Many still help in an emergency.

- A photo ID of any kind. It doesn't have to be a driver's license. They also ask for Social Security numbers or cards for each person in the household.

- They may ask for proof of income.

- By appointment or request: contact them before you go; this isn't a walk-in pantry.

Must provide a photo ID and Social Security Card. Must provide proof of income (e.g., pay stub, layoff notice, SSI Disability notice). If family size is more than two, Social Security cards for each family member are required. If any family member over 21 is not on disability, they must be registered with the Alabama Employment Agency. Must fill out and sign a form prior to receiving food. Serves Jefferson County.”
