New to Serve.Love? Start here.
How long does it take to get started?
ā¼Most organizations are up and running in under an hour. Here's what happens:
- Day 1: We set up your account, import your volunteer list (if you have one), and configure your organization's settings
- First Week: You create your first few events and get comfortable with the dashboard
- First Month: You're fully operational with automation features like surveys and auto-recruit campaigns running
We provide onboarding support to make sure you're confident with the platform from day one.
Can I import my existing volunteer data?
ā¼Yes! Send us your volunteer list as a CSV or Excel file and we'll import it for you. We handle:
- Names, emails, and phone numbers
- Historical volunteer hours (if you have them)
- Custom tags and categories you've been using
- Past event participation data
Most imports are completed within 24 hours.
Do I need technical skills to use Serve.Love?
ā¼No. If you can use email and browse websites, you can use Serve.Love. The interface is designed for nonprofit staffānot developers.
That said, our platform is powerful if you want to dig deeper. Custom forms, advanced automation, and API integrations are all available for organizations that need them.
Can volunteers use Serve.Love without the app?
ā¼Absolutely. The app is optional. Volunteers can sign up for events via:
- Your website (using our embedded calendar)
- Direct links you send them
- QR codes at events
- Mobile web browser
The app adds nice-to-have features like geofencing auto-sign-in and push notifications, but it's not required.

How much does Serve.Love cost?
ā¼We have three pricing tiers:
- Core: $1,490/year ($149/month) - For single-location nonprofits managing 100-1,000+ volunteers
- Pro: $2,990/year - For multi-location and regional organizations
- Enterprise: Custom pricing - For national operations with specialized needs
Every plan includes: Unlimited volunteers, unlimited events, all features (no premium tiers), email/SMS/push notifications, forms & waivers, reporting, and support. Visit our pricing page for full details.
Are there any setup fees or contracts?
ā¼No setup fees. We don't charge to onboard you or import your data.
No long-term contracts. We offer month-to-month billing ($149/month for Core) or annual billing with savings ($1,490/year for Core = $298 savings).
What if I go over my volunteer limit?
ā¼You can't go overāwe offer unlimited volunteers. Unlike other platforms that charge per-volunteer or tier by count, we don't cap your database size. Grow your program without worrying about hitting limits or surprise charges.
Do you offer nonprofit discounts?
ā¼Our pricing is already nonprofit-focused. Every plan is priced for nonprofit budgets. We don't have a separate "nonprofit discount" because we only serve nonprofits.
We also support grant applicationsāif you need documentation or a quote for a grant proposal, just ask.

Can I create recurring events?
ā¼Yes. One-tap setup for events that repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or on custom schedules.
The best part? Update the entire series with a single change. Swap photos, adjust times, or modify descriptions across dozens of events instantly.
Can I collect waivers and liability forms?
ā¼Yes, and it's included in every plan. Other platforms charge extra for thisāwe don't.
Our smart waiver system:
- Asks volunteers to sign once, then remembers them
- Automatically cycles out old waivers when you update them
- Supports custom fields, checkboxes, and digital signatures
- Attaches to specific events or applies organization-wide
How does geofencing auto-sign-in work?
ā¼Volunteers with the app installed automatically get hour adjustment suggestions when they arrive and leave events.
How it works:
- You set a geofence radius around your event location
- When a volunteer enters/exits, the app detects it
- System suggests adding hours based on arrival/departure times
- Coordinators approve or adjust with one tap
This is unique to Serve.Love. No other volunteer platform has built-in geofencing. It eliminates "I forgot to clock in" problems entirely.
Can I send text messages (SMS) to volunteers?
ā¼Yes. We include SMS credits in every plan. You can send:
- Event reminders and updates
- Bulk announcements to specific groups
- Targeted messages based on volunteer filters
SMS works alongside email and push notificationsāsend one, two, or all three channels at once.
Can I embed volunteer signups on my website?
ā¼Yes, and this is a huge differentiator. Your events display directly on your websiteānot on someone else's portal.

- Filter by date range, event type, or volunteer demographics

Is my volunteer data secure?

We also support 2FA (two-factor authentication) for admin accounts.
Can I delete volunteer data when requested?

- Deactivate volunteers (hides them from lists but preserves historical data)
- Permanently delete volunteer profiles
- Export a volunteer's complete data before deletion
Deletion is permanent and irreversibleāwe'll confirm before processing.
Do you sell or share volunteer data?
ā¼Never. Your data is yours. We don't sell it, share it, or use it for anything other than running your volunteer program.

Are digital signatures legally binding?
ā¼Yes. Our digital signature system complies with the ESIGN Act and UETA (Uniform Electronic Transactions Act).
Every signature includes:
- Timestamp of when it was signed
- IP address of the signer
- Device information
- Audit trail of the document version signed
This creates a legally defensible record if you ever need it.

Does Serve.Love integrate with my website?

Your webmaster can add it in minutes using a simple embed code. Events auto-update in real-time.
Can I integrate with Facebook or social media?
ā¼Yes. You can schedule Facebook posts for events directly from Serve.Love. We also provide shareable event links optimized for social media with Open Graph tags (nice previews when you share on Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
Is there an API for custom integrations?
ā¼Yes. We offer a REST API for organizations that need custom integrations with:
- CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
- Accounting software
- Custom internal tools
API access is available on Enterprise plans. Contact us to discuss your needs.
Can I accept payments or donations?
ā¼Yes. We integrate with Stripe for credit card processing. You can collect:
- Event registration fees
- Donations during signup
- Ticket sales for fundraisers
You'll need your own Stripe account (free to set up). We don't take a cutāStripe's standard processing fees apply.

Do you provide training for my team?

We also offer additional training sessions for teams (especially helpful if you have multiple admins).
What if I need help outside of business hours?

For urgent event-day issues, Enterprise customers have access to our emergency support line.
